Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is one of the most popular and effective procedures for improving the size and shape of the buttocks without the use of implants. During the procedure, fat tissue is extracted from other areas of the body, purified, and then injected back into the targeted area to “sculpt” a more voluminous backside.

At Huntington Plastic Surgery Institute, our team of board-certified plastic surgeons and expert medical professionals have the knowledge and skills required to provide you with the quality results you’re looking for.

What Does a Brazilian Butt Lift Do?

A Brazilian butt lift uses liposuction to remove excess fat from other parts of the body, like the abdomen, lower back (“love handles”), hips, and thighs. After the fat is extracted, it’s processed and prepared for injection at strategic locations in the buttocks for a fuller shape, improved contour, and consistent safety.

The rounder and more voluminous backside not only looks natural, but feels so as well. Many patients report that their peers are unable to tell that they underwent a procedure at all once the final results settle.

Plus, by removing fat from stubborn areas that are often difficult to slim down through diet and exercise alone, a BBL offers patients an additional benefit.

Patient Information

What’s the difference between a Brazilian Butt Lift and Buttock Implants?
A Brazilian butt lift uses the patient’s own fat tissue to increase the size and shape of their buttocks naturally, lessening the risks for complications (when performed by a licensed surgeon). Because the procedure uses natural fat, the results also feel natural.

Implants can achieve a larger backside as well, but the results may not appear or feel as natural as BBL results. However, Implants are still a good option for leaner individuals who may not have enough excess fat to harvest for a Brazilian butt lift.

Am I a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Ideal candidates for a Brazilian butt lift should be in good health and have enough excess fat that can be harvested and transferred to the buttocks. Patients should understand that following a BBL, they will have to refrain from sitting or lying directly on their buttocks for several weeks or longer. Additionally, full results may not be noticeable for up to several months.
